Privacy Policy

Last revised on July 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Ravi Mehta LLC dba CopyCopyPaste (“we”, “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information about individuals who use our website (https://copycopypaste.com), our macOS application, and related services, tools, and features (collectively, the “Services”). For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, “you” and “your” means you as the user of the Services, whether you are a customer, website visitor, or another individual whose information we have collected pursuant to this Privacy Policy.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using any of the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use or access the Services.

1. The short version: your clipboard stays on your Mac

CopyCopyPaste is a clipboard utility. It watches what you copy so it can offer AI actions on it — but your clipboard contents and your local clipboard history stay on your Mac. We never upload them, and we do not store them on our servers.

Nothing you copy is sent to an AI model in the background. Text is only sent when you deliberately run an action, and when you do, only that one piece of copied text is sent to the AI provider for that one request, so it can generate a result. You can also require a confirmation before each action, pause history, or exclude specific apps in the app’s settings.

What we do store on our servers is your account and the information you give us during onboarding — described in the next section. The distinction is deliberate: the private text you copy is yours and stays local; the profile you set up so the app can write in your voice is stored so the Services can work across your devices and so we can support and improve the product.

2. Collection and Use of Information

When you use or access the Services, we collect certain categories of information about you from a variety of sources.

Information You Provide to Us

Some features of the Services require you to provide us with certain information about yourself. You may elect not to provide this information, but doing so may prevent you from using or accessing those features. Information that you submit through our Services includes:
  • Account information, such as the email address you request access with and sign in with. We use this to grant and maintain access to the beta, to authenticate you, and to communicate with you about the Services.
  • Profile and onboarding information that you provide when you set up the app, such as your name, a nickname, a phone number, a scheduling or calendar link, and a description of your writing voice and anything else you want the app to know about you. We use this to personalize the actions you run — for example, so a generated reply sounds like you or can offer your scheduling link.
  • Onboarding responses, such as which use cases you selected, any use case you described in your own words, your role, and which action templates you added. We use this to understand what people want from the product and to improve it.
  • Any other information you choose to include in communications with us, for example when you email us for support.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you run an action, we record usage metadata about that generation so we can operate, secure, and improve the Services. This metadata includes the action you ran, the AI model used, the number of input and output tokens, how long the request took, and whether it succeeded.

This usage metadata never includes the text you copied, the instructions you gave, or the output that was generated. We record that an action ran and how it performed — not what it was about.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or store your clipboard contents or your clipboard history on our servers. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party web analytics trackers on our website, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. We do not sell your information.

How We Use Information

In addition to the specific uses described above, we may use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Services, to provide customer support, to send you service and other non-marketing communications, to monitor and analyze trends and usage, to conduct internal research and development, to comply with applicable legal obligations, to enforce our Terms of Use, and to protect the Services, our rights, and the rights of our users or other individuals.

We may deidentify or aggregate information such that it cannot reasonably be used to identify you, and we may use such deidentified or aggregated information for any purpose.

3. AI Providers

When you run an action, the copied text and your instructions are sent to a third-party AI provider that generates the result on our behalf. We send only what is needed to fulfill that request. We do not permit these providers to use the content of your requests to train their models, to the extent their terms allow us to make that election.

These providers process your request under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers beyond our arrangement with them.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose your information to third parties for legitimate purposes subject to this Privacy Policy, including the following categories of third parties:

  • Service Providers: Vendors or other service providers who help us provide the Services, including for cloud hosting and database storage, authentication, AI model inference, security, and product analytics.
  • Other Third Parties: Third parties to whom you request or direct us to disclose information.
  • Professional advisors, such as auditors, law firms, or accounting firms.
  • Business Transactions: Third parties in connection with or in anticipation of an asset sale, merger, or other business transaction, including in the context of a bankruptcy.

We may also disclose your information as needed to comply with applicable law or any obligations thereunder or to cooperate with law enforcement, judicial orders, and regulatory inquiries, to enforce our Terms of Use, and to ensure the safety and security of our business and users.

5. Third Party Websites and Links

We may provide links to third-party websites or platforms. If you follow links to sites or platforms that we do not control and are not affiliated with us, you should review the applicable privacy notice, policies, and other terms. We are not responsible for the privacy or security of, or information found on, these sites or platforms. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators.

6. Children's Privacy

Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the Services, and we do not seek or knowingly collect any personal information about children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have unknowingly collected information about a child under 13 years of age, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to delete such information. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 years of age who has provided us with their personal information, you may contact us using the information below to request that it be deleted.

7. Data Security and Retention

Despite our reasonable efforts to protect your information, no security measures are impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee “perfect security.” Any information you send to us electronically, while using the Services or otherwise interacting with us, may not be secure while in transit. We recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to send us sensitive or confidential information.

We retain your information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy. When determining the length of time to retain your information, we consider whether we need the information to continue to provide you the Services, to resolve a dispute, to enforce our agreements, to prevent harm, to promote safety, security, and integrity, or to protect ourselves, including our rights, property, or products.

You may request deletion of your account and the personal information we hold about you — your profile and onboarding responses — at any time by emailing us at ravi@ravi-mehta.com. When you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your profile and onboarding responses from our servers within 30 days, other than information we are required or permitted by law to retain. Because your clipboard contents and history are stored only on your Mac and never uploaded, you can remove them yourself at any time by clearing your clipboard history in the app or uninstalling it; we hold no server-side copy to delete.

8. California Residents

This section applies to you only if you are a California resident. For purposes of this section, references to “personal information” shall include “sensitive personal information,” as these terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”).

Processing of Personal Information

In the preceding 12 months, we collected and disclosed for a business purpose the following categories of personal information about residents:
  • Identifiers, such as name, email address, and phone number.
  • Personal information categories listed in the California Customer Records statute, such as name and telephone number.
  • Internet or other similar network activity, such as usage metadata about your interaction with the Services.
  • Professional or employment-related information, such as your role, that you provide during onboarding.
  • Other information you provide, such as a scheduling link and a description of your writing voice.

The specific business or commercial purposes for which we collect your personal information, and the categories of sources from which we collect it, are described in the section above, Collection and Use of Information. The criteria we use to determine how long to retain your personal information are described in the section above, Data Security and Retention.

Selling and/or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not “sell” or “share” (as those terms are defined under the CCPA) personal information, nor have we done so in the preceding 12 months. Further, we do not have actual knowledge that we “sell” or “share” personal information of residents under 16 years of age.

Your California Privacy Rights

As a California resident, you may have the rights listed below in relation to personal information that we have collected about you. However, these rights are not absolute, and in certain cases we may decline your request as permitted by law.

Right to Know. You have a right to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.

Right to Delete. You have a right to request that we delete personal information we maintain about you.

Right to Correct. You have a right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

You may exercise any of these rights by contacting us at ravi@ravi-mehta.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We may need to verify your identity, such as by confirming access to the email address on your account, before providing a substantive response.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time, in which case we will update the “Last revised” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes to the way in which we use or disclose information we collect, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you (such as by emailing you at the last email address you provided us, by posting notice on the Services, or by other means consistent with applicable law). If you do not agree to any updates to this Privacy Policy, please do not continue using or accessing the Services.

10. How to Contact Us

Should you have any questions about our privacy practices or this Privacy Policy, or if you would like to request deletion or correction of your data, please email us at ravi@ravi-mehta.com.
